EPOXY FINISH TWO-PACK

A chemical-resistance gloss finish for use with Epoxy Primers and Undercoats in laboratories; Chemical or industrial plant where resistance is required against spillage or fume attack from a wide range of chemicals and solvents. Epoxy Finish is fast-drying and abrasion resistant, and is especially effective against strongly alkaline conditions. While its main use is in protective systems over metallic surface it can be used in conjunctipn with Epoxy Primer White for masonry walls and concrete surfaces in areas where chemical fumes and spillage are experienced. It is available in a short range of colour-fast shades, which enable the decorative appearance of many industrial projects to be enhanced.

SURFACE PREPARATION Epoxy Bildcote is normally applied over Zinc Rich Primer Two-Pack, Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Primer Two-Pack, Epoxy Protective Primer Two-Pack. The protective primer must be clean, sound and firmly adhering. (Polyvinyl butyral shop primers should not be used under conditions of continuous immersion or in conjunction with cathodic protection). The removal of contamination must include washing with fresh water to remove soluble salts.
PAINT SYSTEM
Net Work Normally applied over surfaces prepared and primed with appropriate Epoxy Primer, or over Epoxy Bildcote Two-Pack depending on the surface and the system used. Previously painted two - pack epoxy Check coating does not soften on test area System before commencing work. If softening occurs, strip coating and treat as new work. Surface must be dry and in good condition. Brush blasting may be necessary with old, well-cured existing coatings. Spot prime and bring forward any bare areas as specified. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil and other contraminants. The removal of contaminants should include washing with fresh water to remove soluble salts.

PAINT SYSTEM CHEMICAL AND WATER RESISTANCE Epoxy systems applied to correctly prepared surfaces will withstand immersion in alcohols (except methanols), esters, aldehydes, ketones, hydro-carbon and chlorinated solvents, mineral and vegetable oils, alkalis (except dilute ammonia solution) and sea water; and splashing with most common mineral acids, dilute ammonia solution and water. Where resistance to immersion in fresh water and dilute acids is required as Chlorinated rubber system is preferred.

Note: It is recommended that reference is made To ACCI for guidance on the suitability of Epoxy system for specific conditions.
